Damnationland Damnationland: Music For The Wicked Vol. 2 CD Available Tonight!

Portland, Maine – October 13, 2016 – Local Scary Film Mainstay Issues New Volume in Ongoing Series of Dark Exclusive Local Music Offerings

Horror music returns to Maine this October in the form of the second official Damnationland soundtrack. Featuring music from this year’s films as well as exclusive spooky tracks from local bands, the compilation presents a dazzling array of Maine artists working within dark and disturbing themes in a plethora of genres and styles, from brooding 80’s synth, obsessive indie, apocalyptic twang, psychotic thrash, murderous jazz, experimental ambient, ghoulish glam, and beyond. A trailer and information about the soundtrack is available on the Damnationland website: http://damnationland.com

This year’s soundtrack, subtitled “Music For the Wicked Vol. II”, is produced by Portland residents RJ Wilson and Remy Brecht. It showcases unreleased music from local musicians that was either specifically composed for this year’s Damnationland films or recorded for the soundtrack itself, and includes artists such as Superorder, John Hughes Radio, The Tarantula Brothers, Eyeball, Colleen Clark & Micromassé, Fat Knuckle Freddy, Rob Mitchell and Leif Sherman Curtis, The Veil Drops, Johnny Cremains, Greg Jamie with Aleric Nez, Christine Louise Marshall and Adam Miele, and Anthony Lusk-Simone.

As with last year’s CD, most of the tracks were recorded and mixed by Todd Hutchisen at Acadia Recording Company and the entire album was mastered by Pat Keane, both based out of Portland.

Now in its 7th year, Damnationland is an invitational Maine-based short genre film fest. We work hard to feature the best filmmakers and films from Maine. Our premiere event draws over 800 excited film fans to the beautiful State Theater in Portland every year in early October. The program then tours to all over Maine before moving on to festivals and other screenings around the world. We have screened from Ohio to Singapore, with a couple stops between.

The soundtrack is available at all Bull Moose retail locations as well as online via Bandcamp at http://damnationland.bandcamp.com Copies of the CD will also be on sale at the 2016 Damnationland premiere on Friday, October 14th at the State Theatre in Portland.
